Richard A. Goodwin passed away November 3, 2016, while under hospice care. Services for Richard will be at the Blair First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 8 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rebecca Hjelle will officiate with burial at the Magnolia Iowa cemetery.

Richard was born October 8, 1940, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He graduated from Blair High School in 1959. After high school, he attended Peru State College for one year, followed by three years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he graduated from Milford Trade School and worked until his retirement for Vickers/Eaton in Omaha while residing in Blair. Richard was very proud of Blair and his community and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

Richard is survived by his brother, Bill (Linda) Goodwin, of Council Bluffs; sister, Debra Schlievert, of Norfolk; nephews, Greg (Marianne) Goodwin and son, Corbin, and Richard Charles Schlievert; nieces, Chelsea (Nick) Yates and Cammie Schlievert.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy Goodwin, and brother-in-law, Richard D. Schlievert.

Memorials may be directed to Blair First United Methodist Church.
