TAKES LIFE AFTER SALE OF FARM WHICH HAD BEEN HOME 58 YEARS

William Lorenzen was born March 7th, 1883, on a farm near Newton, Iowa, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lorenzen. In 1887 the family moved to this county where they purchased the farm south of Blair where they continued to make their home until their parents died and the children scattered to make homes of their own—all but Will and a sister, Lulu. They stayed on.

Recently, Will made up his mind to give up farming, and, accordingly, he sold the old home and arranged for a farm sale. The sister was in an Omaha hospital, and Will, alone on the farm, became despondent over the condition of his sister and having to leave the old home, and on the 20th inst. he was found dead in his car in the garage where he had been asphyxiated by gas.

Deceased was a man well respected by his neighbors, strictly honest and a good farmer. He will be greatly missed in his neighborhood and his old time friends will grieve over his tragic end.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2pm at the Presbyterian church in Fort Calhoun and interment will be made in the family lot in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his departure one brother, Henry, and two sisters, Lulu, now in the hospital, and Mrs. Clark Browning of Blair.
