SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. ERNEST LONG

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Ernest Long, who died at Memorial Community Hospital Monday, November 3rd. She had been ill since March.

(unreadable first name)Sarah Long was born February 17, 1899 at Niangua, Missouri, where she grew to womanhood. On January 27th, 1921 she was married to Ernest Long and they lived in Missouri until 1925. They then moved to Tekamah, Nebraska and later in 1932, moved to Blair.

Mrs. Long became the mother of nine children, all of whom along with her husband survive. The children are five daughters: Mrs. Paul McDonald (Nona) and Mrs. John Lutz (Mary Lou), both of Blair; Mrs. Bill Henningsen (Anna Lee), San Bernardino, California; Mrs. Bob Jensen, (Susan), Harlan, Iowa; and Mrs. Jack Bunn (Bette), El Paso, Texas; four sons, James and Junior Long, both of Blair; Neal Long, Colton, California; and Bob Long, stationed with the Navy at Olatha, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, five brothers, and two sisters.

The brothers are Jeff, Vern, Joe, Everett and Freeman Mahoney. The sisters are Beulah and Liz Mahoney. All are from Niangua, Missouri.

The Rev. Donald Springer conducted services at the First Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were Jack Jensen, Harold Taylor, John Andreasen, and Baxter John Penry and Howard Therkelsen.
