ROLLAND W. LONG, 76

Memorial services for Rolland W. Long, 76, of Blair, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. The Rev. Nancy Flader will officiate. There is no visitation. Mr. Long died Wednesday, July 9, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Rolland Wesley Long was born April 28, 1927, in Washington County to Weston and Thelma (Jensen) Long. He attended school at the McCarthy School in Blair. He was a farmer all his life and for the last 18 years, he worked at the Great Plains Communications building as maintenance and cleaning help. He enjoyed working with all the people there.

On Nov. 19, 1945, he married Evelyn Hansen. The couple moved into their home near Blair and lived there for 57 years.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Mary Long of Blair and Marvin and Linda Long of Lincoln; a daughter, Kaylene Gray of Gretna; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Willmott, and one grandchild, David Gray.
