WESTON LONG, 62, DIED HERE SATURDAY

Weston L. Long, well known and long-time resident of this area, died suddenly late Saturday at his farm home north of Blair. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been in good health prior to his death. He had no fore-warning of the trouble.

He was born at Walnut, Iowa, November 4, 1904 and moved to the Blair area when he was a lad of pre-school age. He has been a resident of Washington County for over 55 years.

He has spent his life engaged in farming, much of the time in the McCarthy school district south of Blair, but moved to a farm north of Blair five years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma, and by a son, Rolland long and a daughter, Mrs. Norma Willmott. Both live in this vicinity.

He is also survived by three brothers, Art Long of Omaha; Roy Long, also of Omaha; and Howard of Mesa, Arizona. Mrs. Earl Caldwell (Thelma) of Blair is a sister of the deceased man. His father, Fred Long, also survives. There are six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Atherton conducting the services. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Mann, Leon Hindley, James Christiansen, Eldred Kempcke, Ralph Novak and ______ Andersen.
