George Edward Dunlop Sr., age 87, of Blair passed away November 14, 2016, at Crowell Home in Blair. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

George E. Dunlop Sr. was born on November 12, 1929, in Colome, South Dakota, the son of George A. and Emma D. Dunlop. He lived in South Dakota until 1934, when the family moved to Iowa, living there from 1934 to 1948. In 1949, George joined the U.S. Army. In 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force. On November 6, 1953, he was united in marriage to Barbara Walker in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple was blessed with two children. George continued his career in the Air Force and retired to Blair, Nebraska on June 30, 1970, as a Master Sergeant. After the military, George's second career was with Blair Community Schools as a supervisor in custodial services.

During his retirement George enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and walking his dogs. He was an active member of First Christian Church of Blair and enjoyed participating in the church grounds upkeep.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Dunlop, of Crowell Home in Blair; son, George (Laurie) Dunlop Jr., of Nickerson; daughter, Robina Skovbo, of Omaha; grandchildren, Marcy (Mike) Myers of Omaha, Stacey (David) Carter of Fremont, Caitlynn Dunlop of Fremont, Zachary Dunlop of Fremont; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Crowell Home or First Christian Church in Blair.
