Memorial Services for Myrtle Blankenfeld, 83, who died November 30, 1990 at Goleta Valley Community Hospital following a short illness, were held at First United Methodist Church in Lompoc, California. Rev. Paul Sharer officiated. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Fort Calhoun, Saturday, December 15, 1990 at 10:00 a.m.

Myrtle Christensen Blankenfeld was born June 8, 1907 in Fort Calhoun. A homemaker, she had lived in Lompoc since 1964, since moving from Canby, Minnesota.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and Valley of the Flowers Half Century Club.

Survivors include four daughters and their spouses, Delores Reid, of Santa Maria, California; Bonnie Townes of Lompoc; Bette Jarvis of Chandler, Arizona and Sharon Sievers of Omaha; four sons and their spouses Emmitt of Rancho Palos Verde, California, Billie of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; Russell of Rochester, Minnesota and Richard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister Lorraine Wiese of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and sisters-in-law Marie Christensen of Good Shepherd Home and Marjorie Christensen of Blair.
