Jean Blatter, 72

Funeral services for Jean Blatter, 72, of Blair, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery. Mrs. Blatter died Friday, Sept. 14, at Bergan-Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Jean J. Blatter was born Nov. 20, 1928 in Omaha to Harry and Ora (Miller) Johnson. She graduated from Benson High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

She worked for the telephone company in Omaha, and the Visiting Nurses Association. She moved to Blair in 1971, after her marriage to John Blatter. In 1974, she started to work in the Clerk of the District Court’s office and became the clerk in 1987, until her retirement in 1999.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, P.E.O., Washington County Republican Women, and Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Blatter and Debra Smith of Council Bluffs, John Blatter of Woodway, Texas, Ted and Mary Blatter of Omaha, daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy Blatter of Milwaukee, WI, and Heidi and Kip Kircher of Madison WI, and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, and a sister, Janice Parker.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
