John Paul Blatter, 50

Funeral services for John Paul Blatter of Blair were held Tuesday, July 24, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Father Jess Hansen conducted the service, with music by organist Ruth Mirtz.

Blatter, a veteran was an instructor at Omaha Westside High School the last 24 years. He attended Blair Elementary Schools and graduated from Blair High School and Dana College. He taught two years at magnolia (Iowa) High School. He was on the credit union board of directors at Westside. He was 50.

Survivors include his wife Jean (Johnson), children Tracy Ann of Kearney, Heidi Marie of Omaha, John Willian of Lincoln, and Christopher Smith of Blair. Blatter’s first wife, Audrey, preceded him in death in 1968.

Other survivors are brothers Ted of Anaheim, California, Bill of Lakewood, Colorado, and sisters Pauline Lallman of Fontanelle, Anna Marie Bruner of Long Beach, California, Helen Barta of Elkhorn, Alice Dick of Fremont, and Dorothy Albus of Blair.

Pallbearers were Dave Dibben, Tony dunning, Steve Grimit, Ton Olsen, Paul Seevers, and Mark Watkins. Burial was at Blair Cemetery Tuesday.
