DIED - At her home in Blair on Thursday, May 3rd, 1894, Mrs. Ruth, wife of the late N. B. Loomis. She was taken ill a few days previous to the death of her husband, which occurred April 6th. At times during this period she seemed to improve and there was hopes for her recovery, but a change took place on Wednesday and she sank very rapidly.

She was the mother of five children all of whom are now married and live to mourn her loss. She was a sister to Mrs. Geo. Smith, Mrs. H. B. Dexter and Mr. N. Flynn of this city. The funeral took place from the Methodist church Saturday at ten o’clock a.m.

#2 - - from The Pilot, May 9, 1894

LOOMIS - On Thursday, May 3, 1894, with congestion of the brain, Mrs. Ruth Loomis, wife of the late Bonaparte Loomis, aged 58 years.

Mrs. Loomis was taken sick about one week previous to the death of her husband, whose death occurred four weeks lacking one day prior to hers. The best medical skill was summoned to her relief and kind and loving hands attended to her every need, but nothing could conquer the disease or relieve her from the great sorrow over the death of her beloved husband.

She was born in York state and was married to Mr. Loomis in 1853. Together they traveled life’s rugged road for a long number of years, and together they have passed out to trys the unseen realities of another world. A few days before her death she made a confession of her faith and assured all that she was prepared and only awaited the summons of her Master. Her death was calm and peaceful as a May morning, resembling one falling into peaceful slumber. Rev. Main, of the Methodist church,m conducted the funeral services at the church at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, and she was buried beside the body of her husband by a large concourse of loving friends and relatives.

(Her husband’s Find A Grave Memorial is # 57412144. The website did not seem to have a separate memorial for Ruth, his wife.)
