HAZEL E. LOOSING

Hazel E. Loosing of Arlington, 86 years of age, died Monday, November 4, at the Skilled Care Center in Fremont. she was born September 14, 1899 at Cowles, Nebraska. She grew up in Cowles, lived in Indiana and Kansas and came to Omaha in 1920. In 1943 she moved to a farm near Arlington. She moved to Arlington in 1961.

She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. She married John Vasbinder on September 10, 1913. He died December 13, 1941. On October 5, 1943, she married Fred Loosing at Omaha. He died in November of 1960.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Harriet) Masters of Fremont; a brother, Harold Bates of Santa Clara, California; a sister, Francis Smith of Fremont, California; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Harriet (Francis) Bates; two husbands; three brothers: Charles, Clifford and Lee Bates; three sisters: Edith Bates, Jennie Ann Donahue and Myrtle DeWolf.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Arlington. Pastor Dennis Maaske officiated. Memorials may be given to the church or the arthritis foundation. Burial was at the Arlington Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rupert Hilgenkamp, Boyd Giesselmann, Duane Thompson, Don Austin, Lyle Thompson and Gerald Russell. Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
