Randal (Randy) W. Schrum, age 68, of Fort Calhoun, NE was born March 15, 1948, in Belle Plaine, IA and died November 21, 2016, at his home in Fort Calhoun, NE surrounded by his family.

Randy grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1966. Randy joined the Air Force after high school. Randy married Katherine Goss in 1974 in Colorado. Randy and Kathy settled in Fort Calhoun, NE in 1976. Randy was a member of the Fort Calhoun Fire Department for thirty-three years and a city volunteer. Randy was a registered nurse at Immanuel Medical Center providing care in the emergency room for over thirty years.

He was preceded in Death by: parents, Donald and Vernie (Long) Schrum. He is survived by: sons, Aaron (Amanda) Schrum of Fort Calhoun, NE and their three children, Gemma, Greta and Levi, Karl Schrum of Daytona Beach, FL, Kathy Schrum of Blair, NE and many friends.

No visitation.

Memorial Service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26 at Abiding Faith Baptist Church in Fort Calhoun. Interment is at Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Military Honors provided by Fort Calhoun American Legion Post #348. Memorials suggested to: The Schrum Family to be distributed at a later date.

Randal William Schrum, born March 15, 1948 to Donald and Vernie Lee (Long) Schrum in Belle Plaine, Iowa, entered his eternal rest on November 21, 2016. Survived by sons Aaron and wife Amanda (Madsen) Schrum of Fort Calhoun, parents of his three beloved grandchildren, Gemma, Greta and Levi, son Karl Schrum of Daytona Beach, Florida, Kathy Schrum of Blair, Nebraska and many friends. After serving in the United States Air Force, Randy was a dedicated registered nurse at the Immanuel Medical Center providing care in the emergency room for more than 30 year. He was also a faithful servant to the people of the Fort Calhoun area as a firefighter and paramedic for 33 years and a city volunteer.
