Blair native David C. Hindley, 65, of Shell Knob, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Grace Community Fellowship Church in Shell Knob. Interment was at the McCullough Cemetery.

David C. Hindley was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Blair to Robert and Arlu (Jurgens) Hindley. He graduated from Blair High School with the Class of 1961, and served in the United States Army.

On Feb. 5, 1987, he married Carole Linebarger at the First Christian Church in Shell Knob. The couple opened their first restaurant together in Shell Knob in 1987. Later they owned and operated Carole's restaurant in Shell Knob for several years.

Mr. Hindley was a member of the Grace Community Fellowship Church in Shell Knob. His chuch and church family was very important to him. He enjoyed acting as chauffeur for his wife and her Avon business. He appreciated his customers and loved to visit with them when they visited the restaurant.

He is survived by his wife, Carole; mother, Arlu Hindley of Blair; daughters and son-in-law, Trish and Mark Sorensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Tonya Hindley of Blair; stepson and wife, Cary and Melissa Kincaid of Perry Okla.; stepdaughters and husbands, Sherry and Buck Stepp of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jo and David Marion of Shell Knob; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Keith and Kevin Hindley, both of Blair, and Glen Hindley of Victoria, Texas; three sisters, Shirley Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Delores Hindley, also of Victoria, and Robin McNutt, of Ozark, Ark.; brother-in-law and wife, Rick and Diane Linebarger of Cassville, Mo.; sister-in-law and husband, Joby and Marc McCall of Collinsville, Okla.; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Community Fellowship Church building fund.
