Robert G. Hindley, 82, of Blair, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Robert G. Hindley was born Dec. 24, 1922, near Blair to Walter Leon and Doris (Utterback) Hindley. He lived most of his life near Blair, with the exception of 15 years spent in Murfressboro, Ark. He was a 1940 graduate of Blair High School.

Mr. Hindley was well known for his custom work and farming in and around Blair. While living in Arkansas, he worked for Southern Cement and served as an emergency medical technician. On April 7, 1943, he married Arlu Jurgens at Mineola, Iowa. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active public member of Blair Memorial Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Arlu; four sons and daughters-in-law, David and Carole Hindley of Shell Knob, Mo., Keith and Dolly Hindley and Kevin and Pam Hindley, all of Blair, and Glen Hindley of Victoria, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Donald Smith of Naples, Fla., Deloris Hindley of Victoria, Texas, and Robin McNutt of Ozark, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Nohrenberg of Blair, and Carla and Mike Salsbury of Blair; a sister-in-law, Marion Jurgens of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Blair Rescue Squad.
