MONA M. DEETS DIED AT BLAIR HOSPITAL THURSDAY

Mona M. Deets, widow of the late Ross Deets, longtime Blair barber, died Thursday at Memorial Community Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mrs. Deets was a lifetime native of Blair, having been born here August 25, 1899. She was 75 years old, a graduate of Blair High School, and at one time was very active in the affairs of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. For many years she managed the dry goods department of the former W. J. Sas Store which operated in the building now occupied by Kolterman’s Ben Franklin store. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Chambers who was an early-day business man dealing in real estate and insurance.

Mrs. Deets had been visiting California and had taken ill while there. She was returned to Blair by plane Sunday evening, April 20th and taken to the Blair Hospital for treatment. She died quite suddenly Thursday.

Mrs. Deets is survived by two daughters, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Fremont; and Mrs. Delores Patton of Van Nuys.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Saturday morning, April 26th, with the Rev. Robert Bee conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Don Schettler, Fritz Wolff, C. N. Robinson Jr., Ted Jarosz, Robert Barry and Harry Beck.
