McMahon, Jim Age 70 Of Fremont, NE. Died Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Jim was born September 19, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Bill and Ruth McMahon. Jim was a 1964 graduate of Ryan High School. He received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from UNO. Jim married Karen Gebert on June 7, 1969 at Holy Ghost Church in Omaha. During his time at UNO Jim co-founded the Elmwood Park Track Club which would grow to become the Plains Track Club and then the Omaha Running Club. In 1974, Jim was the race director of the first Omaha Marathon. He was inducted into the ORC Hall of Fame in 2013. In 1978 he became assistant professor of Physical Education at Midland Lutheran College. He was the head Cross Country and Track Coach until retirement in the spring of 2013. He is survived by wife, Karen McMahon of Fremont; sons, Chris (Nancy) of Omaha, Sean (Beth) of Fremont, Kyle (Rebecca) of Fort Calhoun; brothers, Mike (Stephanie) McMahon and Dick (Bonnie) McMahon of Omaha; sisters, Judy Jacobsen of Omaha and Carole (John) McMahon-Boies of Lincoln; and grandchildren, Samantha, Ross, Anna, Paul, Collin, Ella and Maddie. He was preceded in death by his parents. VISITATION will be Sunday from 4-8pm with a 6pm Rosary at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. FUNERAL MASS will be Monday at 10:30am, St. Patrick's Church in Fremont. Burial will be at 2pm, Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.
