Bobby E. “Bob” Dorfmeyer, 85 years, of Fremont, NE died Monday, December 26, 2016, at Fremont Health Medical Center in Fremont. Bob was born January 6, 1931, in rural Uehling, NE to Henry and Lorna (Johnson) Dorfmeyer. He grew up in Uehling and spent most of his life in Fremont. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Marva Laaker on February 14, 1959, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, NE. Marva died on May 11, 2006.

Bob previously worked for Rump's Plumbing and Heating and then helped start Air Comfort in the early 1980's and later was owner and operator of Bob Dorfmeyer Plumbing.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles #200, American Legion Post #20 and V.F.W. Post #854, all of Fremont. Bob was an avid car collector and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his grandchildren.

He is survived by sons, Ryan (Darcy) Dorfmeyer of Fremont and Troy (Kelly) Dorfmeyer of Gretna, NE; daughter, Tricia Dorfmeyer of Fremont; grandchildren: Hayli, Collin, Jax and Jagger Dorfmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Darcy R. Dorfmeyer; and sister, Ila Jean Engdahl.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Dan Heuer will officiate. Visitation on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and on Saturday at church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with military honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20.
