Services Were Held In Herman Baptist Church December 16

Charles Millard DeVall, a native of Blair and for many years a farmer in the Herman vicinity, died at his home at Long Pine, Nebraska, on December 12.

DeVall was born at Blair on June 28, 1879, and thus was 63 years old at the time of his passing. He was married to Miss Bertha Skinner of Blair on December 28, 1899. A resident of Washington County nearly all his life, he farmed west of Herman for many years; he had moved away from this vicinity less than five years ago, going first to a farm south of Bassett and later to Long Pine.

Survivors include the widow and two sons, Millard at home, and Edgar of Fremont; a daughter, Mrs. Effie Hansen of Fremont; a brother, Eli of Longmont, Colorado, as well as eleven grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 16, at the Herman Baptist Church at two o’clock; Rev. John Paton, pastor of the Tekamah Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Tekamah cemetery.
