Viola R. Hinz, 94, of Blair, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation began at noon Monday, May 3, with fthe family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Viola Ruth Nelsen was born October 9, 1915, in Blair to Richard and Annie (Rasmussen) Nelsen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Orum Lutheran Church. She graduated from Blair High School in 1933.

On December 23, 1934, she married Floyd Hinz at the Orum Church. Mrs. Hinz was a bookkeeper at Memorial Community Hospital for 20 years and at Dana College for three years. She loved to crochet, play cards and travel. She had visited all 50 states.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son Theron "Terry" Hinz of Lexington, KY.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Arlene Kingry of Fremont and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; three sisters; and one brother.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
