Charlotte Jean Bauer, 83, of Blair, died Jan. 14, 2017 at MCH surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life will be held at later date.

Charlotte was born to Carl and Esther Bohs in Blair, NE on March 5, 1933. She graduated from Blair high school and was married to Hildreth Paine in 1951. Into this union, five children were born. She worked as a hostess at the Blair Marina before beginning her career as a bookkeeper for several Blair area businesses. She married Rodger Bauer on March 17, 1984. Charlotte was an accomplished knitter, pianist, cook and gardener. She also loved to play cribbage and work crossword puzzles.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lyle Bohs; and beloved daughter, Susan Paine-Gunchick.

She is survived by her husband, Rodger Bauer of Blair; children: Carl (Cyndy) Paine of Herman, Thomas (Carol) Paine of Herman, Mary Blobaum of Blair, Jean (Steve) Beck of Blair, Daniel Gunchick of Midway, AR and Mia (Brian) Fuller; sister-in-law, Barbara Lane, and daughter, Mia; grandchildren: Meredith (Nick) Collins, Sarah Paine (Michael), Anna (Andrew) Felts, Charles (Lindsey) Blobaum and Jake Gunchick; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and treasured friends.
