Blanche (O'Hanlon) Stanley, 97, of Omaha, died Jan. 17 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, Neb. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, 444 S. 17th St., Blair, with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m.

Blanche was born May 27, 1919, to Leslie and Florence Haller of Omaha. She attended Catholic schools (Holy Name, St. Cecelia's and St. Mary's) in Omaha. She married Reed O'Hanlon Jr. in 1938 and lived in Blair, where he was editor of the Pilot-Tribune newspaper.

They had eight children and moved to Battle Creek, Mich., in 1958. The family returned to Blair in 1964, three years after Reed's death.

Blanche married Neil K. Stanley in 1985, and the couple lived in Omaha. Neil died in 2003, and Blanche continued living in the West Omaha home they built before later moving to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Survivors include: four children, Michael O'Hanlon of Blair, Thomas O'Hanlon of Omaha, Kay Young of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Kevin O'Hanlon of Lincoln; son-in-law Gary Goldsmith of Arlington, Mass; daughters-in-law, Mary Jo O'Hanlon of Blair and Valerie O'Hanlon of Lincoln; former son-in-law, Raymond Young of Santa Rosa, Calif., former daughter-in-law, Beth O'Hanlon of Omaha; as well as dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to Reed and Neil, Blanche was preceded in death by four children: Peggy O'Hanlon, Patrick O'Hanlon, Kathleen Sorensen and Patricia Goldsmith. She also was preceded in death by grandsons Andrew and William Sorensen.
