Emil H. Kuhl age 92 of Blair passed away Feb. 3, 2017 at Valhaven Care and Rehab Center in Valley.

Emil Kuhl was born on Aug. 11, 1924 in Elkhorn, Nebraska the son of Henry and Mary Kuhl. He was primarily raised in Elkhorn and attended Arlington and Elkhorn Schools. He worked as a farm hand in the Washington and Douglas county areas. On October 25, 1947, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Peetz at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. Emil and Henrietta raised their 9 children on a farm near Blair while he farmed and worked in construction.

Emil was a member of Country Bible Church in Blair. He had a passion for John Deere tractors, baseball, Nebraska women's volleyball, polka music and his wood crafting. Emil especially enjoyed family picnics with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Emil is survived by his children; Beverly Recoy, Linda (Jack) Hinrichsen, Vern (Janet) Kuhl, Irwin (Diane) Kuhl, Brenda (Dave) Stone, Dave (Ann) Kuhl, Rod (Kristi) Kuhl and son-in-law Neal Gaul, 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Henrietta, son Wayne Kuhl, daughter Barbara Gaul, grandsons: Daniel Gaul and Eli Kuhl; sister Katherine, brothers: William "Bill", Herman and Hans Kuhl.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Country Bible Church in Blair, graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday beginning at 3 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Memorials may be directed to County Bible Church in Blair.
