Woman Falls Dead While Visiting Friend

Mrs. Jens C. Christensen Victim of Sudden Attack

Mrs. Jens C. Christensen, West Nebraska Street, dropped dead Wednesday evening while visiting with Mrs. Hans Jeppersen in the Jeppersen home at Kennard. Heart disease is believed to have been responsible for her death. She was 67 years old.

A native of Denmark, Mrs. Christensen came alone to this country and a year later was married. She had been a resident of Washington County for forty years, thirty of which were spent on a farm near Kennard and the remaining ten in Blair. Mr. Christensen died 14 years ago.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the First Lutheran Church with Reverends Lund and Nielsen officiating and burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Christensen are four children, Mrs. Ida Vinderslev, Herman; Mrs. Annie Johnson, Kennard; and Nels and Otto Christensen of Blair.

Mrs. Kristine Christensen, a resident of this county since 1890, was stricken with paralysis on Wednesday evening of last week at 6 o’clock in the evening while visiting at the home of Mrs. Hans Jepperson in Kennard and passed away immediately.

Deceased was born in Denmark in 1865, and at the age of 25 years came to America, and two years later in 1892 she married Jens Christensen. After their marriage, they followed farming, the husband passed away eighteen years ago, and ten years ago Mrs. Christensen established her home in Blair where she has since resided.

She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Mrs. Ida Vinderslev of Herman and Mrs. Annie Johnson of Kennard; and two sons, Niels and Otto Christensen of Blair.

Funeral services were held last Saturday, September 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the home on west Nebraska street and at 2 p.m. at the Danish Lutheran church, with interment in the Kennard cemetery.
