Less than a year later they moved to Douglas County, Nebr., to Elk City, where they farmed many years. On leaving the farm they moved to Washington, Nebr., where they lived five years, coming from there to Arlington about seven years ago.

They had ten children, of whom two died, Mabel aged 13 in 1891 and Ethel aged 18 in 1903. The surviving children are Jess Fitch, Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. John Falter, Bancroft, S.D., George Fitch, Yankton, S.D., Mrs. Vilas Schoenauer, Plainview, Nebr., Mrs. Blaine March, Osceola, S.D., Frank D. Fitch, Parmalee, S.D., Mrs.Lubker, Falls City Nebr., and Mrs. Eber Schoenauer, Plainview, Nebr. There are twenty two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Fitch is also survived by her father, now ninety-two years of age, who lives at Koshkonong, Missouri, and by five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Fitch had not been in good health for a long time: had been will all winter, more or less. She had been to visit her daughter at Falls City, and on her return a couple of weeks ago it could be seen she was not improved in health, and soon she began visibly to sink, until she passed into a coma last Thursday, from which she passed into the great beyond on Friday, April 22nd at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

Mrs. Fitch was raised amid Christian surroundings and for many years was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Elk City, then at Washington, and for the last six years at Arlington.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 24th; her pastor, Rev. Frank Williams, conducting a short prayer service at the home, from whence the body was taken to the Elk City Church where Rev. Williams preached and sweet songs of comfort were sung by a quartet from the Arlington church after which interment took place in the Elk City cemetery.
