Vincent C. Hoffman died July 13, 1989 at the age of 79 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.

He was born in Pierce, Nebraska August 2, 1909 and grew up on a farm there. He came to Blair with the C.C. Camp in the 1930's. He lived in Blair until 1957, was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and worked for Kelly Ryan Equipment Co. for several years.

He then moved to Villisca, Iowa where he married Gladys Bowman.

He served his country in World War II from which he received a Purple Heart Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Loretta Wackerbarth of Blair; three grandchildren, Kristie Saltzman of Tekamah, Marjorie S. Hoier of Herman, and Bruce Billesbach of Omaha; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sr. Susan Hoffmann of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and Bertha Kinder of Wayne, Nebraska; and three step-children, Glen Fitchhorn, John Fitchhorn, and Wanda Frahm, all of Blair.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; granddaughter, Kathie Jo Wackerbarth; and a step-daughter, Leatha (Fitchhorn) McBride.

Funeral services were held in Villisca, Iowa Monday, July 17 at ? Funeral Home, Rev. Gordon Gittins, officiated.
