Services for Berniece V. Hogan, 76 of Pender who died August 18, 1996 at the Pender Community Hospital were Wednesday, August 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Walthill, Nebraska. Rev. Jim Kramper officiated. Burial was in the Dakota City Cemetery at Dakota City, Nebraska.

Berniece V. Hogan was born March 31, 1913 in South Dakota to Edmond and Grace Clay Bruneau. As a small girl she moved to Fargo, North Dakota.

Later she moved to Sioux City, Iowa and in the late 1940's, she moved to Thurston County, where she owned and operated the Silver Moon in Walthill for many years. The latter part of her life was spent in Pender.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

She is survived by five daughters, Starla (Mrs. Ron) Anderson of Pender; Maxine (Mrs. Charles) Kelly of Blair; Dorothy (Mrs. Kenneth) Blau of Merrifield, Minnesota; Janice Reynolds of Pender and Karen (Mrs. James) Mussack of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie St. Cyr of Sun City, Arizona.
