Thomas Hogan was born December 26, 1860, at Clinton, Iowa, and passed away at his home at Nashville, Nebr., January 7, 1930. His parents were pioneer residents of Washington county, coming here in the '60's.

Mr. Hogan was married to Miss Margaret Colligan at Lyons, Neb. on October 31, 1894, and the wife, with one daughter, Alice, and one son, Leo, mourn the departure of the loving husband and father.

From the time he was 19 years old, or for a period of nearly fifty years, he was engaged in railroad work, most of that service being with the M.& O. He was made foreman of the Nashville section in 1906, which position he held, with the exception of a short time, when he was transferred to Blair, until failing health compelled him to retire in August 1927. He was ome of the most competent foremen on the division and was known and loved by not only railroad employes, but by a host of other friends. His genial nature made friends of all he met, and his passing brings sorrow to an unnumbered circle.

The funeral services were held in the Catholic church at Blair this morning and burial was made in the cemetery at that place.
