Stella Wendt, 89

One of the Foundrs of CBC

Stella Wendt, 89, of Blair, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29 at County Bible Church.

Stella Wilson was born Feb. 3, 1922, in Omaha to Fredrick and May (Bowen) Wilson. She was a long-time Blair resident.

She was one of the founders of the Country Bible Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in its social group, Silver Cords. Interested in young people her whole life, she helped organize the Blair Teen Club and was often seen in the stands at local sporting events. She enjoyed traveling, especially in the Southwest.

In later years, she was often seen buzzing around town in her little, purple Neon giving rides to anyone who needed one. In the last few years her devoted caregivers, Ann Reno and Jessica Raymond, made it possible for her to remain independent.

She is survived by her children, Scott and Pat Wendt, Lincoln; Hope and Clarence Mock, Fremont; Kirby and Daina Wendt, Blair; Nicki and Bob Neverman, Clovis, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Wendt and her brother, Bowen Wilson.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
