Carol A. Niebaum, 76 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Pathfinder House in Fremont.

Carol was born November 6, 1939 in Fremont to George and Ruth (Johnson) Losee. She was a 1957 graduate of Fremont High School and attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont and Wayne State College in Wayne Nebraska. She lived the majority of her life in Fremont.

Carol married Lyman Niebaum on February 15, 1959 at the First United Methodist Church in Fremont. They lived north of Fontanelle from 1959 to 1966, then moved to Fremont. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont. She owned and operated Le’Tanne Tanning Salon for a few years in Fremont.

She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands and spending time in Estes Park, Colorado, flower gardening and being on the lake. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Carol is survived by her husband, Lyman Niebaum of Fremont; daughter, Margo and husband, Doug Alberts of Fremont; sons, Dan and wife, Becky Niebaum of Oceanside, California and John and wife, Crystal Niebaum of Willliamsburg, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Emilee and husband, Ron Scheer of Fremont and Kathleen and husband, Richard Craner of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Eric Alberts and Blaire Alberts of Fremont, Seth and Garrett Niebaum of Oceanside, Jeff Niebaum of Omaha, Nebraska, Fred (Emily) Niebaum of Grimes, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, George Losee, Jr.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Marty Tollefson will officiate. Closed casket visitation will be Wednesday 5 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials may be directed to the Fremont Area Alzheimer’s Fund.
