Published in Enterprise on 28 July 2006 Former Arlington resident Elna Hoeneman died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 28, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday at the church, one hour prior to services

. Elna E. Hoenemann was born Aug. 23, 1933, to William and Olga (Schmidt) Hoeneman.

She grew up on the family farm near Arlington, attended St. Paul's parochial school and graduated from Arlington High School.

She graduated from Concordia Teacher's College at Seward and earned additional credit hours from Midland Lutheran College at Fremont, and the University of Colorado at Boulder. She taught and assisted at elementary schools in Washington, Dodge and Sarpy counties. In 1953, she moved to Denver, Colo., and taught at various Lutheran schools in the Denver area.

She then worked at the Golden Bell Press in Denver and served as church secretary at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Golden, Colo., for 10 years. She retired in 2001 and moved to Fremont.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Lakewood, Colo.

She is survived by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Marvin and Ruth Hoeneman of Craig, Elmer Hoeneman of Omaha, and Taymond Hoeneman of Nickerson; sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Gerald Kuss of Kearney; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Wilma Schafer, and one niece.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

The funeral for Elna E. Hoeneman, 72, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

She died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

The Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate Saturday's service. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., all at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, north of Arlington.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
