#1 Funeral services for Olga L. Hoeneman, 88, of Nickerson, who died Wednesday, May 21, 1986, in the Fremont Care Center were held Saturday, May 24, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Pastor Dennis Maaske officiated and burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery in Arlington.

Mrs. Hoeneman was born July 29, 1897, the daughter of Henry and Elise Schmidt of Leslie, Missouri, where she grew up. She moved to the Arligton area as a young lady and lived there until 1936 when she and her husband moved to the Nickerson area where they farmed. She married William H. Hoeneman on March 2, 1920 in Arlington.

Mrs. Hoeneman was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Survivors include three sons, Marvin of Craig, Raymond of Nickerson and Elmer of Omaha; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Wilma) Schafer of Nickerson, Elna Hoeneman and Mrs. Gerald (Florence) Kuss, both of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Hulda Westerman of Leslie, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Walter and Elmer Schmidt; and three sisters, Elsie Haag, Dora Hilgenkamp and Flora Otte.

Pallbearers were Kent Hoeneman, Harold Schafer, Terry Hoeneman, Danny Kuss, Dean Schmidt and Gilbert Hilgenkamp.

Organist and choir director was Dennis Godeman.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home of Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Olga Louise Wilhelmine Hoeneman

Olga Hoeneman, the daughter of Henry and Elise (Scheer) Schmidt, was born at Leslie, Missouri on July 29, 1897. She was Confirmed on April 9, 1911 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaufort, Missouri. She grew up at Leslie, Missouri and came to the Arlington Area as a young lady. Olga married William H. Hoeneman on March 3, 1920 at Arlington. They lived at Arlington until 1936 when they moved to the Nickerson area where they farmed. William died on January 12, 1973. Olga was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington.

She passed from this life, Wednesday, May 21, 1986 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 22 days, at the Fremont Care Center in Fremont, Nebraska. She is survived by three sons, Marvin Hoeneman of Craig, Nebraska, Raymond Hoeneman of Nickerson and Elmer Hoeneman of Omaha, Mrs. Curtis (Wilma) Schafer of Nickerson, Elna Hoeneman and Mrs. Gerald (Florence) Kuss both of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Hulda Westerman of Leslie, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Walter Schmidt and Elmer Schmidt; sisters, Elsie Haag, Dora Hilgenkamp and Flora Otte.

Following the Graveside services a lunch will be served in the Parish Hall for the family, relatives and friends.
