MRS. HOIER DEAD, AGE 81

NATIVE OF AUSTRIA, MRS. HOIER BURIED HERE AFTER LUTHERAN SERVICES

Mrs. Martin Hoier, 81, former farm wife in the Herman and DeSoto vicinities, died early last Thursday at Good Shepherd Home in Blair, where she had resided the past two years.

The body was taken to the Campbell Mortuary. Funeral rites were held at First Lutheran Church Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating. Interment was in Blair Cemetery.

Surviing Mrs. Hoier are her husband, Martin; one son, Morris Hoier of Monterey, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Roland Hineline (Anne) of Blair and Mrs. William Hineline (Martha) of DeSoto; also four grandchildren. One grandchild preceded her in death.

Eva Bidriva was born near Taschen, Austria (Bohemia) Sept. 27, 1873, and went to Germany as a young girl, later living in Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark, and came to America in the spring of 1912. She and Martin Hoier were married at First Lutheran Church in Blair Nov. 15, 1912. For 14 years they lived in the Pleasant View School District, then for 11 years on a farm northwest of Herman, followed by 15 years at DeSoto.She had been at Good Shepherd Home the past two years.
