1972 Blair Graduate

Randall J. Paulsen, 56, of Rapid City, S.D., died Saturday, April 30, 2011.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Randall James "RJ" Paulsen was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Fremont to Jim and Jean Paulsen. He was a 1972 graduate of Blair High School, and served six years in the United States Air Force, stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base until 1978.

He had lived in Rapid City for the last 39 years and was employed at Creative Surfaces in Rapid City.

He loved the outdoors, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, shooting pool and flying stunt kites.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda M. (Snedigar) Paulsen of Rapid City; parents, Jim and Jean Paulsen of Blair; brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Susan Paulsen of Blair, Michael Paulsen of Papillion; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Doug Lemon of Louisville, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Chad Burrows.
