Mrs. Andrew Hoier, Sr., died at the honme of her daughter, Mrs. Fritz Matthiesen, at the farm home northwest of Blair, last Friday afternoon of dropsy, following heart trouble. The funeral was held at the Danish Lutheran church in this city at 2 o'clock Sundy afternoon, Rev. Nielsen officiating. Maria Christina Bonde was born in Schleswig, Denmark, August 12th, 1837, so was almost 88 years of age. She was married there to Andrew Hoier in 1869 and their five children were all born there. The family came to this country in 1883 and lived on a farm northwest of town for a number of years. They moved to Blair and shortly thereafter, in 1911, he passed away. Mrs. Hoier has made her home mostly with Mrs. Matthiesen since her husband's death. Martin and Andrew live on and near the old home place. James lives down near Dale and Henry near Spiker. There is one unmarried daughter, Katrina.
