Loved Animals and Her Grandchildren

Alice F. Campbell, 72, of Blair, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday beginning at noon with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alice Faye Jump was born Nov. 8, 1938, at home in Decatur to Melvin (Shorty) Jump and Faye (Pounds) Jump. She graduated from Decatur High School. She attended college for two years and became a bookkeeper.

She married Melvin Campbell of Blair on May 16, 1958. They made their home in Blair. Mrs. Campbell worked at the Omaha Crockery as a bookkeeper, Booth Fishery in Omaha, Lil' Duffer in Blair and Crowell Memorial Home for 12 years in the laundry department. She enjoyed being outside. She loved animals and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

The couple had three children: son, Sonny Campbell, daughters Pennie (Campbell) Keller and Shirleane (Campbell) Lange; five grandchildren, Stephone Casey, Shelby Lange, Amy Campbell Johnson, Laura Campbell and Sarah Deeney;, step-grandchildren, Nick Keller, Elizabeth (Keller) Swan, Heather Keller, Jeanne and Beu Craft, and Nichole and Ron Reising; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is survived by husband Melvin Campbell; daughters and son-in-law, Shirleane Lange, Pennie and James Keller; daughter-in-law, Melissa Campbell; sister, Genevieve Modlin of Jefferson, S.D.; and brother Melvin, "Dutch" Jump of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Sonny James Campbell; two grandchildren,Candice and Luzetta Casey; brothers, Earl and Kenneth Jump, sister Pauline Rose.
