Claudine Ruth (Wiley) Sterner, 76

Claudine Ruth (Wiley) Sterner, age 76 of Sparta, Missouri passed away at her home on Saturday morning, March 25, 2017.

She was born June 8, 1940, in St. Francis, Kansas, the daughter of Ben and Maxine (Martin) Wiley. On May 7, 1981, Claudine was united in marriage to Randy Sterner. Claudine was an active member of the Republican Committee and enjoyed serving as Treasurer and working on various council groups. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, after retiring as a bookkeeper. In her spare time, she loved to read, visit Silver Dollar City and make quilts to share as gifts for special occasions.

Claudine attended church at Garrison Baptist and more recently began attending Calvary Baptist Church of Ozark.

Claudine is survived by her husband, Randy; son, Luke Jay Cochran; stepsons, Jeff Sterner and wife, Deann, Tim Sterner, Tony Sterner; granddaughter, Wendi Cochran Ferguson; grandson, Zack Cochran and girlfriend, Jennifer; four great-grandchildren: J.D. Jayla, Madison and Kayla; five step-grandchildren: Lauren, Jerrod, Tyler, Alex and Gavin.

Claudine was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, James Paul Sterner.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Country Bible Church. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
