Raymond Lee Dickson, 82

Raymond Lee Dickson, a Blair resident from 1957 until 2010, passed away in Fresno, CA on April 3, 2017.

Ray was born in Great Falls, Montana on October 7, 1934, and spent his first few years in an orphanage. As a youth, he was adopted by Chet and Helen Dickson, who preceded him in death.

Ray was the Student Body President of his 1951-1952 class at Central Catholic high school. Right out of high school, he enlisted in the Marines and served 4 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He and Carole then moved to Blair, where Ray attended Dana College for 2 years and Creighton University for 3 years when he received his degree in pharmacy. Ray worked as a pharmacist in Blair, Falls City and Omaha until his retirement.

Ray was married 53 years to Carole Madsen, who passed away in 2010. They had no children.

He is survived by brother-in-law, Lowell "Buzz" Madsen, and sister-in-law, Sue Madsen of Fresno, CA.

Ray donated his body to the Nebraska Anatomical Society. After their research, there will be a private graveside service in the Blair Cemetery.

Memorials can be sent to First Lutheran Church in Blair.
