Emil Schulenberg

Scribner—The funeral for Emil M. Schulenberg, 87, of Scribner will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner.

Schulenberg died Thursday, April 14, 1994, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner.

He was born Jan. 18, 1907 in Meta, Mo. He farmed in the St. Edward, Ames and Scribner areas. He lived in the Scribner area since early 1950s and retired in 1972, when he moved into Scribner, where he played the organ and was a member of Lutheran Layman’s League of Scribner.

He married Ruth Springer Feb. 23, 1941, in Scribner. She died Sept. 4, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Lambert of Scribner and Keith of Columbus; a grandson, four step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a stepson.

The Rev. Donald Brunner will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 3-9 pm Sunday at Spear-Johnson Funeral Home in Scribner and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Scribner Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the Good Samaritan Center or the church.
