Dorothy E. Bloemker, 81

Services for Dorothy E. Bloemker, 82, of Fremont were Monday, October 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Donald Levenhagen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Dorothy E. Fuchs Bloemker was born April 14, 1910 in Evanston, Indiana where she grew up. She was baptized May 1, 1910 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Evanston and confirmed April 13, 1924 at the same church.

She moved with her family at the age of 17 to the Hooper, Nebraska area.

She was a cook at eh Methodist Camp Fontenelle and at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had been active in its ladies Aid and LWML. She was previously active in those organizations at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington.

She was a charter member of the Fontenelle Extension Club and was active in the Fremont Senior Citizens and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She married George W. Bloemker January 30, 1930. They farmed northeast of Fontenelle until moving into Fremont in 1965.

She was preceded in death by her husband George; a twin brother and another sister and parents.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Mrs. Kenneth) Skoog, Fremont; three sons, Gene, Dakota City; Robert, Poway, California and Rev. Rudolph, Ely, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; a brother, Rudolph Fuchs, Arlington; and two sisters, Irma Stork and Charlotte Stork, both of Arlington.

Memorials may be given to The Lutheran Hour.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
