Smith Holetom died of pneumonia, following influenza, at his home in north Blair at about 8 o'clock last Friday evening and the funeral was held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating. Smith was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Holeton and was born in this city April 6th, 1879, being therefore almost 40 years of age. He was married to Miss Laura Stricklett in Omaha in 1900 and one son, Willard, was born to them, now a young man of 18 years. When his sister, Mrs. Everett Houghton, died a few years ago leaving four children they took the little babe, nine days old, to raise and he is now four years old. He leaves also his aged mother, Mrs. John Holeton, of this city who is also at the present time very low with double pneumonia, and two brothers, David, of this city, and Ora, who is serving his country in France. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many friends.

The death of Smith Holeton, whose critical illness was noted in last week's Enterprise, occurred at eight o'clock last Friday at his home in northeast Blair. He had been down with influenza which developed a virulent case of pneumonia. Deceased was a native of Blair, his father John Holeton dying here many years ago. Smith would have been 40 years of age had he lived just one week longer. His wife, one son, Willard, aged 17 years, a four year old boy, son of his deceased sister, which Smith and his wife have reared and his aged mother are surviving near relatives. Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon.
