Ruth A. Holiday, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at the Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Burial was in the Tekemah Cemetery.

Ruth A. Holiday was born Oct. 22, 1924, to Hugh and Carrie (Smith) Clark, in Chicago, Ill.

On June 14, 1941, she married Forrest LeRoy Holiday in Grant City, Mo. They lived in Iowa until moving to Herman in 1949, where her husband worked for Harold Taft and Hancock Farms. They moved to Tekamah in 1958. She worked at the Club Cafe and retired from Wilkinson's Manufactuing in Fort Calhoun. She was an adult caregiver for several disabled people including her husband, for eight years.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Dianna and Terry Pickell and Dorothy Holiday, all of Tekamah; sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest "Jerry" and Linda Holiday of Kennard and Alvin and Loretta of Tekamah, Frank and Linda Holiday of Decatur and Dan Holiday of Wallingford, Conn.; sister and brothers-in-law, Vivian and Richard Killman of Creston, Iowa and Richard Armstrong of Glenwood, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Goldie, Frances and Lois.

Memorials are suggested to the Tekamah Rescue Squad.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
