Mrs. Blomquist, Buried in Blair

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Mrs. Reinhold Blomquist, Sr., of Rushville, Nebraska. She was laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Mary Teresa (May) Kelly was born January 12, 1879 at Wisner, Nebraska to Thomas F. and Elie Byrd (Stockton) Kelly, and was reared in Blair, graduating from Blair High School in 1896. She was taught for three years in Washington County schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Blomquist were married in October of 1901 and were parents of nine children. A daughter, Jeanette, nee Sister Mary of Saint John of The Cross, preceded her in death in the Baltimore, Maryland, Motherhouse of The Good Shepherd in June of 1940.

Survivors, besides her husband, are her children:

Reinhold, Jr., of Omaha; Byrd Hoffman, Glendale, Arizona; Tom K., Sacramento, California; Elna Schilke, Couer D’Alene, Idaho; Joseph, Glendale, Arizona; Grace Hess, Phoenix, Arizona; Teresa Taylor, Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are several cousins, including Kenneth Pound of Blair; and 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
