Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 1990 at the First Baptist Church in Blair, with Rev. Noel McLaren officiating for Betty Hollis of rural Blair, 63, who died at the Immanuel Hospital, on May 12, 1990 after a lengthy illness. Burial will be in the Priaire View Cemetery at Kennard, Nebraska.

Betty Duckett was born on July 8, 1926 at Dalton in Furnace, England to William and Jane Chapman Duckett. She received her elementary education in England and later attended Worster College in Worstershire, England, Upon receiving her education she taught in England and in 1950 moved to Australia where she continued her teaching.

In 1951, she married William Hollis in Australia. They moved to England in 1960 where she was vice-principal in the school system for ten years. in 1970 they moved to Millard, Nebraska and in 1974 to the Lakeland area in Blair where they resided until her death.

She is survived by her husband, William; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Susan Hollis, Blair and William R. and Debbie Hollis, Omaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Frank Davis, Columbus, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; four brothers, William, John, Michael and Robert Duckett, all of Australia.
