Lester Rurup, 91

Lester Rurup, 91, of Blair, died May 10, 2011, in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery, with an honor guard provided by the Fort Calhoun American Legion Post No. 348.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home.

Lester "Buster" Rurup was born March 17, 1920, in Benson, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Lois (Knag) Rurup; daughters and sons-in-law, Emile and Dennis Cordle of Blair, Lois Ann and Lyle Borders of Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Delbert "Bud," Henry "Scoop," Harry "Babe," and a sister, Jessie Grover.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or the donor's choice.

Survived by wife Lois Rurup, Blair, NE; daughters and son-in-laws, Emile and Dennis Cordle, Blair, NE; Lois Ann and Lyle Borders, Longmont, CO; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION Friday from 6-8 pm at funeral home. FUNERAL SERVICE Saturday 10:30 am at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Interment Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Memorials to Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or of your choice.
