Ruth Lucille Korth, 95

Ruth Lucille Korth was born May 23, 1921, on a farm in Wayne County to Ernest and Anna (Brummond) Frevert. She entered into rest May 21, 2017, in Wakefield. She was baptized June 26, 1921, at Salem Lutheran Church rural Wakefield and confirmed April 14, 1935, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church rural Wakefield.

Ruth married Wendell Korth March 4, 1945, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church rural Wakefield. They farmed south of Wakefield until moving to Wayne and later to Blair for a few years. In 1976, the couple returned to Wayne. Over the years, Ruth was employed as a sales clerk at J.M. McDonalds in Wayne, Burkes Fashions in Blair, and then worked as a food service checker at Wayne State College for over 15 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Wayne Eagles Club Auxiliary, Wayne Senior Center, and enjoyed people.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Roy (Elaine) Korth and Vaughan (Connie) Korth both of Blair; Warren (Judy) Korth of Lincoln; and eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Merlin (Kathleen) Frevert of Wayne; sister-in-law, Bonnie Frevert of Winside; nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell in 2006; brother, Glenville in 2013.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The interment will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wayne
