Edna Holstein, 96, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Fremont, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, in Kansas City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at First United Methodist Church in Blair with the Rev. A.K. Saul officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Edna Caroline Hovendick was born on July 2, 1902, to William and Abigail (Rosenbaum) Hovendick at Herman.

On Feb. 2, 1922, she married Dewey Holstein in Omaha. Mr. Holstein preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker who loved to garden and preserve her produce and raise beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed playing the piano and was a proficient seamstress.

She worked at Schweser's Department Store for many years.

She lived in Washington County and Dodge County prior to moving to Kansas City.

She was a member of the Fremont Methodist Church and Trinity Methodist Church in Kansas City. She was also a member of Degree of Honor Fraternal Association.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Holstein of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Edyth Atwood of Blair and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; her parents; three brothers, Walter, Edward and Bill; and four sisters, Mabel Lindenmeir, Myrtle Christensen, Pearl Kimbro and an infant sister.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
