Joyce Elaine Brammer, 88

Joyce Elaine Brammer, 88, of Blair, Nebraska, formerly of Grand Island, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. today at All Faiths Funeral Home, Grand Island. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Joyce was born December 3, 1928, in Bayard, Nebraska to William and Breta (Ziemer) Hegwood. She grew up and received her education in Denver, Colorado.

On October 14, 1950, Joyce married Donald Nelson Brammer in Rushville, Nebraska. They made their home and raised their family in Grand Island. For several years, Joyce was employed at the Ordinance Plant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on September 23, 1994, and her son, Stephan Mel Brammer, on November 3, 2009.

Her surviving family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Ray Mueller of Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Brammer of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Janet Jo Brammer of Yuba City, CA; brother, Larry Hegwood of Grand Island; sisters, Jeannie Wedster, Kristine Hegwood and Kathleen Hegwood, all of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community, 2242 Wright Street, Blair, NE 68008.
