Tim Booton went home to Jesus on June 1, 2017, after a valiant five-year battle with colon cancer. He was born on December 10, 1964, in Blair, NE. He attended Blair Schools and graduated from Blair High School before graduating from UNO with a degree in Public Relations.

He married Susan Gillespie, with whom he fell in love at first sight, in Omaha. From this union, Tim and Sue were blessed with two children, Claire Nichole and Parker Jackson, the lights of his life.

Tim had many friends and maintained friendships from grade school into his adult life. He made friends wherever he went. His greatest joy was to make people laugh. He loved music of all types and enjoyed seeing many concerts with his friends throughout the years. Some of his favorite concerts in his later years would be proudly watching his wife, daughter, and son singing and dancing at The Rose Theater. He loved to spend a day fishing even if nothing was caught. His faith relationship with God was very important to him and a great comfort during his final days.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna and Frank Gunsolley, Lois and Darwin Soll; brother, Steven Booton; and nephew Berek Solano.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Gillespie Booton, and children, Claire and Parker, all of Omaha. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Helen (Gunsolley) Booton of Blair; sister, Kathleen Booton of Blair; sister-in-law, Melanie Booton of Blair; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barb and Ron Gillespie of Omaha; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rhonda and Greg Gillespie of Kansas City, MO; many aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, grandnieces and a grandnephew.

Many thanks go out to special friends, Pastor Doug and Jill Russell, Mike Roberts, Craig Ulrich, and David Nabity. The family would also like to thank all the friends and faith communities who kept Tim in their prayers throughout his illness.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church at Creighton University, 2500 California Plaza.

Memorials may be directed to the family for Claire’s and Parker’s education.
