Harvey D. Shuster, 83

Harvey D. Shuster, age 83, of Blair, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home. Military Graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.

Harvey Shuster was born on April 29, 1934, in Martin, South Dakota, the son of Harvey E. and Lillian P. Shuster. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1954. He then attended Universal Trade School in Omaha, learning the trade of auto body repair. On December 7, 1957, he married Julie Pomeroy in Schuyler. The family moved to Millard before making their permanent home in Blair in 1968.

Harvey was a John Deere Implement Dealer from 1967 to 1984. Following his time with John Deere, Harvey worked in real estate. In 1996, the couple opened Shuster's Wash Tub. He began working for Woodhouse in 1998 and continued to be an employee until the time of his death. Harvey enjoyed golfing, traveling, and attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Julie, of Blair; children: Scott (Karen) Shuster of Rock Creek, West Virginia, Susie Moravec (Brad Hansen) of Fremont, and Sheryl (Troy) Rodgers of Elkhorn; grandchildren: Jessica (Steven) Knight, Samantha Zuercher, Scott Shuster Jr., Brian, Brianna, Matthew and Melissa Shuster, Katie Moravec, Cory Moravec, Delaney Rodgers, Lilly Shweki, and Alexa Ruwe; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Owen and Hudson Zuercher, Danika and Austin Knight; sisters: Lillian Balmer of Lincoln, and Margaret (Bob) Kirchoff of Ft. Myers, FL; and brother-in-law, Darrel (Mary) Pomeroy of Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rudy (Donna) Shuster; sister, Phyllis Koci; granddaughter, Gracie Shuster; and brother-in-law, Don Balmer.
