Raymond D. Gray
March 28, 1934 - May 12, 2017

Raymond D Gray, 83 years, of Fontanelle Nebraska, passed Friday, May 12, 2017. Raymond was born March 28, 1934 in Clarinda, Iowa, to Lawrence "Duke" and Mabel (Herrington) Gray.

　Raymond married Diana L. Garvin in Clarinda, Iowa on March 29, of 1953. They later moved to Spencer, Iowa and he worked for Spencer Construction. Then moving to Fremont Nebraska in 1965, he went into a successful partnership Construction and Crane Operation Company; partners included, Raymond, Phillip Patrick and Frank Vecchi. He was also a Certified Electrician and Crane Operator.

　Raymond and Diana moved their family to a small acreage in Fontanelle Nebraska in 1970. There, he settled in to enjoy the beauty of their home life and the many happy times with Diana and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their front porch was the favorite family gathering place where they shared love and laughter.

　Raymond retired from his partnership company in 1997. After retiring he worked part time at Korshaw Lumber and later to drive cars for Woodhouse in Blair, Nebraska until 2015.

　Raymond was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. He loved to go fishing, boating and the outdoors. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and repairs; with patience and his natural engineering ability, Raymond was able to fix anything.

　He is survived by his wife, Diana of Fontanelle; sons, Ed and wife, Jan Gray of North Bend, Nebraska and Rex and wife, Rhonda Gray of Elkhorn, Nebraska; daughters, Alese and husband, Bill Brandt of Fremont, Nebraska and Tracy and husband, Alan Christensen of Papillion, Nebraska; brothers, John (Shirley) Gray, Charles (Carol) Gray all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tom (Judy) Gray of New Market Iowa; sister Dottie Fellers of Bolivar, Missouri: nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

　He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William and Richard Gray; grandson, Spencer Christensen; and great grandson, Willian Krietz.

　Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. The Rev. Allison Siburg will officiate. All are invited to join the family at a luncheon following the service. Memorials may be directed to the family for a designation at a later date.
